The case had a trail in Mumbai, where two persons were arrested earlier this month for their alleged involvement in gold smuggling racket, the officials said.
Those arrested here are suspected to be part of the same gang which smuggled these yellow metals from Mayanmar and went to Mumbai.
After the arrest of two members of the gang, the rest took shelter in Kolkata and continued with their smuggling business, the officials added.
