6 armed men rob BSP leader on Saharanpur Highway; 3 arrested

A group of six armed men robbed a BSP leader of his car, licensed gun, and cash near Hind village on Saharanpur Highway, following which three of them were arrested, police said today.

The incident took place last night when district BSP Chief Arvind Kumar was on his way to Bhawan town from Shamli in his car with some party workers to participate in a meeting, Dy SP Satpal Singh said.

Six armed miscreants intercepted the car, Singh said, adding, they robbed Kumar of his vehicle, two mobile phones, and cash and fled from the spot.

Police rushed to the spot and started a search for the accused, following which three of them were arrested.
 

Car and gun were recovered from their possession, Singh said.

The other three managed to escape and a search to nab them is on, he said.
