Six persons were today arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle illicit liquor worth over Rs 60 lakh into Gujarat, police said today.
Police seized a container carrying 1,000 cartons of English liquor and arrested Somveer (30) and Satbir (32) of Haryana's Bhiwani district in the wee hours.
Another 500 cartons of English liquor were seized from a truck going from Sojat in Jalore district to Gujarat.
Bhanwarlal Bishnoi (47), Hanuman Ram (39), Hari Singh (32) and Balveer Jaat (33) of Jalore district were arrested.
The arrested persons have been booked under relevant sections of the Excise Act, police said.
