6 bootleggers, 5 drug peddlers arrested

Eleven people have been arrested from various parts of the district for their alleged involvement in bootlegging and drug smuggling, police said today.

Six bootleggers and five drug smugglers were arrested during raids last night.

In-charge of Ecotech police station Ajay Yadav said, "Four men on two motorbikes were arrested at Greater Noida-West Chhaganpur crossing. Two kilograms ganja was recovered from them. They were identified as Yogesh, Sonu, Rajkumar and Munesh. On interrogation, they revealed they used to buy ganja from Bihar and sell it in Greater Noida."

Another person, identified as Amit, was arrested in Tilapta with one kilogram ganja.
 

Meanwhile, two bootleggers were arrested from Sector 37.

Surajpur police station in-charge Anuj Kumar said, "Samir and Amit were arrested with six cartons of smuggled liquor bottles."

Four more bootleggers -- Balbir, Abhimanyu, Rahul and Mastram -- were arrested from Ghangola area last night, Greater Noida police station in-charge Subodh Kumar said.
