Six passengers were injured as the bus in which they were travelling met with an accident in the frontier district of Rajouri today.

The bus was on its way to Rajouri from Palma village when the driver lost control over the bus.

"The bus was over-speeding when the accident took place which led to injuries to a numbers of passengers," a police official said.

Jammu-based defense spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said that after the accident a road opening party of the army swung into action and rescued the trapped passengers of the bus.

"The army also helped evacuate the injured passengers in an army vehicle to the civil hospital at Rajouri. This timely action by the troops of 'Romeo Force' saved the lives of many," Mehta said.
