Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Patel Chowk, Race Course, Jor Bagh and Khan Market stations falling near and around the residences of Singh and Gadkari will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

However, interchange of passengers from Line 2 to Line 6 will be allowed at Central Secretariat station.

Delhi Metro took the decision to close down the stations, five of which fall on the Gurgaon Line, after instructions from Delhi Police.

This is not the first time that the Metro stations are closed down as precautionary measure to pre-empt protests. Earlier, in August 2011, the Delhi Metro had closed down a few stations near Singh's residence following a call by Anna Hazare to protest outside his residence.

Erstwhile Team Anna supporters will gherao the residences of Singh and Gadkari.

"Are metro stations closed during BJP and Congress rallies also? Does it mean parties and politicians are not a threat but the people of this country are a threat to the country?" Kejriwal asked in a tweet today.

Kiran Bedi said closing metro stations to make it inconvenient for people to come to Jantar Mantar rally was "completely undemocratic".
