Six companies of Central Para Military Forces (CPMF), including CISF and BSF, have arrived here to ensure fool-proof security covers for the Shillong leg of the 12th South Asian Games.
"Six companies of CPMF personnel have been stationed at the various venues for the SAG, apart from the state police personnel drawn from various battalions," a senior home department official told PTI.
The CISF and the BSF personnel were stationed in either of the three venues -- SAI complex at the North Eastern Hill University premises, the sports complex of the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, and the J N Stadium at Polo grounds.

Security cover was also extended to the hotels where players and officials will be staying and escorts to players will be provided, he said.
Meanwhile, about 750 volunteers have also been enrolled for smooth conduct of the SAG in Shillong.
