Six persons, including three boys and a woman, were today killed and 45 others injured when the tractor-trolley in which they were travelling overturned at Neem Ghati, about 30 kms from here.
The victims were returning to Katangi village in Narsinghpur district after attending a religious function, sub divisional officer of police C L Raj said.
The victims were travelling in two tractor-trolleys initially.
However, after one of the tractors developed a snag, both trolleys were tethered to the other tractor.
The tractor driver lost control while passing through Neem Ghati and the tractor as well as the two trolleys overturned, killing six persons on the spot, the SDOP said.
The deceased were identified as Revabai (50), Ankit Goud (12), Lalchand (35), Sandeep Goud (13) Durgesh Goud (16) and Rajkumar (18).
Among the injured, four were in serious condition and sent to Narsinghpur district hospital, while the remaining were undergoing treatment in Devri Civil Hospital.
