Six people sustained injuries when a pipe bomb exploded in a village in western Nepal today.

The incident occurred in Dasera village in Jajarkot district.

Police suspect the bomb might have been concealed during the decade-long Maoist insurgency that ended in 2006.

The district administration has asked for a helicopter to airlift the injured people to the capital for further treatment.

According to police, the bomb went off when a local man tried to pick up the pipe in a forest.
