Six persons, including two women, were injured today in a clash between two groups over a poll-related dispute in Fatehpur village here, police said.

The incident took place when the supporters of one of the contestants for the post of village head were pasting posters on the wall of one Meharban's house, who is supporting another candidate.

The owner of the house objected and tore off the poster leading to an argument. The supporters of the other candidate joined in Meharban and a clash ensued, Additional SP (rural) Jagdish Sharma said.

Both the groups wielded canes and sharp-edged weapons in the clash, Sharma said.

Six persons, including two women, were injured in the clash, he said.

Ten persons have been named in two counter FIRs registered in the matter, Sharma said, adding that six persons have been arrested so far.

An investigation is underway in the matter, the ASP said.
