About six kg of heroin, worth Rs 30 crore in international market, was today seized by the BSF and the Punjab police in Ferozepur sector along the international border.
BSF DIG and senior spokesperson R S Katiyar said in a statement that a special joint search operation of the BSF, the Ludhiana STF and the Ferozepur counter intelligence was launched in the D T Mal Border Outpost area.
During the operation, six packets of heroin, each weighing 1 kg, were found, the officer said, adding the seized heroin is worth about Rs 30 crore in international market.
Including this seizure, a total of 109 kg of heroin has been recovered in 2017 in Punjab along the international border, the official said.
