At least six people including three children died today after two houses collapsed in Assiut governorate of Upper Egypt.
Security forces rushed to the place of the incident, cordoned off the area and evacuated the nearby buildings.
The rescue team were searching for survivors after eyewitnesses said a family of eight resided in one of the houses.

A primary investigation show that one of the collapsed houses did not meet regulatory norms and was unlicensed, local media reported.
Building collapses are common in Egypt due to illegal constructions and failure to abide construction guidelines.
