At least six persons were killed and 12 others injured in an accident involving five vehicles in Ramgarh district of Jharkhand Wednesday, police said here.
Two trailer-trucks, a truck, a mini-truck and an off- road vehicle carrying passengers were involved in the pile-up at Chutupalu Ghati, a serpentine stretch of National Highway- 33, under Ramgarh police station limits.
Five passengers of the off-road vehicle and the driver of one of the trailer-trucks were killed on the spot, Officer -in-Charge of Ramgarh police station Vipin Kumar said.
Among the 12 injured, the condition of five was stated to be serious and they were referred to a hospital in Ranchi, while others were admitted to the Sadar hospital here, Kumar said.
