6 killed in road mishaps

An NRI woman was among two persons who were today killed in a road mishap in the district here, police said.

Two persons, including an NRI woman, were killed this morning and two other NRIs were injured in the road accident that occurred near Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar, about 15 km from here, on the Hisar-Delhi National Highway, police said.

Jasvir Kaur, her sister Sukhwinder Kaur and their brother Malkeet Singh, residents of Shri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, were residing in America along with their father.

After the death of their father they were returning to their native village along with the mortal remains of their father.
 

They landed at Indira Gandhi Airport New Delhi last night and were on their way to Shri Ganganagar in a car when it collided with a bus coming from opposite direction killing two persons on the spot.

The victims were identified as Jagjit Singh alias Jagga of village Karanpur (Raj) and Jasveer Kaur.

The injured Malkeet Singh and Sukhwinder Kaur have been admitted to a civil hospital here.

In another accident, four persons were killed and thirteen injured when a jeep carrying them collided with a truck, near village Dhani Toda on Loharu-Bhiwani road yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as Satish and Rohtash, both residents of village Gignau, Madan Lal of Jui village and Pyare Lal of Singhni village.

Police said the driver of the jeep lost control while trying to overtake another vehicle.
