6 militants surrender

Six hardcore militants, including five belonging to anti-talk faction ULFA (Independent), today surrendered before the Army in Assam's Sibsagar district.

The militants gave themselves up at the Army's Ranghar camp and besides the ULFA militants, a NDFB ultra also laid down arms at the camp, defence sources said.

The militants also handed over two 7.65 mm pistols with six rounds of ammunition, four .22 mm pistols with four rounds of live ammunition, nine gelatine sticks and a bomb.

The militants have been identified as ULFA's Bipul Saikia, Kamal Saikia, Dipankar Rajbongshi, Raktin Bora and Biki Roy along with NDFB'S Guibar Basumatary.
