Six minor boys, hailing from Bihar's Kishanganj district, have fled from a madrassa in Hadapsar in Pune, police said today.

The boys, on the pretext of going to the toilet, gathered their belongings and ran away from the madrassa on Tuesday, police said.

"The minors, residents of Sabodangivillage in Kishanganj in Bihar, were brought to the Darul Uloom Chishtiya Jalaliya madrassa in Hadapsar on July 3," a Wanwadi police official said.

"The six went outside to play, accompanied by a teacher, and then took a break to go to the toilet and fled. We have recovered a CCTV grab that shows them running away," he said.

Madrassa authorities filed a complaint yesterday after finding out that the children had not reached their homes in Bihar, the official added.

"We have registered a case of kidnapping since they are minors," he added.

Police identified them as Sahmad Asaruddin Raja (13), Annan Mohammad Azad Shaikh (12), Ahsan Nizam Shaikh (15), Shahnawaz Jamaluddin Shaikh (16), Anwarul Israel Haque (13) and Rizwan Alam Salamuddin Shaikh (15).
