Police today arrested six more members of the outlawed Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI) on charges of waging a war against the state.

The arrested persons comprised both PLFI cadres and its associates.

With today's arrest, a total of 13 persons have been rounded up by the police within two days.

Police today arrested Jadumani Patra, 57, of Badbil, Sandip Ekka, 22, and Butru Khadia, 20, of Raibaga, Suraj Sahu, 19, Kalu Thakur, 19, and Riba Xalxo, 30, all belonging to Biramitrapur of Sundergarh district.

They have been arrested following the interrogation of the two masterminds yesterday.

Of the six, Patra, who belongs to Badbil, is an ex-army personnel, and he was giving shelter and other logistics support to Arjun Rana, the mastermind, who was arrested yesterday.

Besides, he was also giving arms and ammunition training to Rana and his cadres. He was helping the PLFI in Badbil and Koita belt, police said.

Sundergarh SP Pinak Mishra said: "Following the arrest of Arjun and Kiran Soye yesterday, we immediately extracted information from them during interrogation and their confession led to further arrests today.

He said those arrested yesterday were planning a big operation in the district.

He however, corrected the fact about Patra, who was earlier being identified as a retired commissioned officer of the Army.

He was never an officer rather retired as a lower level personnel of the Army, said Mishra.
