At least six persons were killed and three others injured today when clashes broke out between Muslim Brotherhood supporters and residents of Talbeya district in Egypt.

The clashes took place after the feast prayer when the Muslim Brotherhood supporters held anti-regime protest in the district near the Giza pyramids, security officials said.

Six persons were killed and three others injured during the clashes, they said.

The Muslim Brotherhood supporters were carrying weapons and birdshot, an official said

Fifteen of them were arrested by security forces during the clashes, he added.

Since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013 by military following massive protests against his rule, Muslim Brotherhood protests have reduced. However, pro-Morsi supporters continue to hold small protests.
