Six patients suspected to be suffering from swine flu died during treatment at state-run M Y Hospital here since yesterday, officials said today.

The deceased include two women and an eight-year-old girl, Sanjay Dixit, head of Community Medicine Department at Government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, told PTI.

All were admitted to swine flu ward of the hospital after they showed symptoms of the deadly viral disease, he said.

Two of them were local residents, while the others had come from Dhar, Ujjain and Ratlam districts, Dixit said.

Swab samples of these patients were sent for laboratory testing before they succumbed to the disease and their results are awaited, he said.

Since January 1, 39 people have died of swine flu in Indore, Dixit added.
