The ruling Telugu Desam Party is all set to bag six seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from the Local Authorities Constituencies as no other candidates are in the fray.

In all, elections are being held for nine Council seats from the LACs, polling for which is slated for March 17.

Counting will be held on March 20.

The lone opposition YSR Congress fielded its candidates only in three LACs -- Kadapa, Kurnool and SPS Nellore -- where it has some strength.

In Srikakulam, East Godavari, West Godavari (two seats), Chittoor and Anantapuramu only the TDP candidates are in the fray.

Scrutiny of nominations will be held tomorrow while last date for withdrawal is March 3.

The results of these six seats will be formally declared on March 3 after the withdrawal process ends.

The TDP fielded former minister Satrucharla Vijaya Rama Raju from Srikakulam, former minister Chikkala Ramachandra Rao from East Godavari, incumbent Angara Ramamohan and Mantena Satyanarayana Raju from West Godavari, sitting MLCs Silpa Chakrapani Reddy from Kurnool, Vakati Narayana Reddy from SPS Nellore, Rajanarasimhulu (Dorababu) from Chittoor, B Ravi from Kadapa and Deepak Reddy from Anantapuramu.

Of these, only Ravi, Chakrapani and Vakati are facing contest against YS Vivekananda Reddy (Kadapa), Gouru Venkat Reddy (Kurnool) and Anam Vijaya Kumar Reddy (SPS Nellore).
