A 'kanwaria' (devotee of lord Shiva) was killed after getting run over by a speeding truck in Friends Colony area today, triggering violent protest by locals, police said.
The incident took place this morning when the man, identified as Sanju Yadav (60) was on his way to a temple. Yadav, died on the spot, they said.
Irate locals blocked the road and set a truck on fire.
However, the situation was later brought under control by police and the victim's body was sent for postmortem.
