60-yr-old man booked for raping minor girl

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an elderly man in Machilipatnam town of Krishna district, police said today.

The incident took place about a month ago at Chintaguntaplem Weavers Society office premises here where the girl, daughter of a society office bearer, was allegedly raped by 60-year-old clerk P Nageswara Rao, Circle Inspector K Saiprasad said.

The girl was admitted to a hospital two days back due to some illness where the doctors found out that she was raped.

Subsequently, she narrated the incident to her parents and a complaint was lodged at Inaguduru Police Station yesterday, the officer said.
 

She was later admitted to Machiliaptnam Government Hospital for a medical test.

A case has been registered under relevant IPC sections against the accused, who is at large, added police.
