Around 62,000 households are being given monthly cash subsidy of Rs 600 under the ambitious Annashree scheme, the Delhi government said today.
Under the Annashree scheme, launched in December last year, a monthly cash subsidy of Rs 600 is being transferred directly into Aadhaar-linked bank account of the senior-most female member of poor families which are not getting subsidised food grains.
"The benefit Rs 600 per month has been sanctioned to around 62,000 household so far in 70 circles of Delhi. The amount is deposited in Aadhaar-based bank account of senior most female head of the families," a senior official said.
Two lakh poor families, which are not getting subsidised food under either BPL scheme or Antyodaya Anna Yojana, have been identified as the beneficiaries of the food programme.
