63 Cavalry or 'Tresath', as the elite armoured unit of the Army is popularly called, today celebrated its sixtieth anniversary here.
In a ceremony christened Heritage Review, the present generation of Cavalrymen paid tribute to their veterans and heritage equipment which was reviewed by Lt Gen K J Singh, General Officer Commanding -in-Chief, Western Command, a defence spokesperson said.
Vintage tanks and armoured cars were paraded during the event.

These included the World War-II vintage American Cadillac tank 'STUART-VI', the British Humber armoured car and Daimler armoured car popularly known as 'Dingo'.
American M-113 Bradley caught everyones attention as it was first of its kind to do so on the Indian soil, he said.
The regiment was also the first to use this equipment before the Americans inducted it in their inventory of armour.
The crew who had operated these vintage equipment were also called for the event, he said.
Ferret scout car, PT-76 and T-55 tanks, which had brought laurels to the regiment during the 1971 Indo-Pak war in the Eastern Theatre, were also showcased in fully serviceable condition befitting the occasion, he said.
The appearance of Tresath tanks from four cardinal directions coupled with the shock and awe it unleashed, earned the unit the epithet of the 'Ghost Regiment' from the enemy, he said.
