63 kg of Pangolin scales seized

Customs officials said that the scales of Pangolin also known as Scaly Anteater which were seized yesterday would cost more than Rs 37 lakh in the local market.

K Manga, from whose house the Pangolin scales were seized, reportedly said that he was instructed to send the scales to a man named Padawnga in Myanmar.

The scales of Scaly Anteater, an endangered specie, were used for making garments and other purposes, the officials said.
