In reply to a question raised by Adesh Chauhan (BJP), the minister said the government received a total of 64 complaints of violation of labour laws in two years time of 2010-11 and 2011-12 and 87 cases were registered against them.

However, he failed to give replies to supplementary questions regarding the number of workers working on factory pay-rolls and on contractual basis, the number of cases of child labour and the number of raids conducted by the department during the period.

Later, on demand of the opposition BJP members, Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal suspended the question and directed the minister to furnish the information to the house later.
