64 riot accused persons surrender in court, get bail

G Udayagiri Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Biswa Prakash Ray granted regular bail subject to conditions to the accused based on an order issued by Orissa High Court.

They were directed not to indulge in violence and refrain from tampering evidences against them. They were also directed to make personal appearance in the court on each date.

They were charged under various sections of the IPC including house burning, dacoity, loot, murder and rioting in 2008 Kandhamal riot after the murder of VHP leader Laxamananda Saraswati.

The accused belonged to different villages under Raikia police limits.
