A 65-year old woman today created a flutter by attempting to commit self-immolation in the district collectorate premises seeking equal share of her husband's property, which was totally given to his first wife and children.
Kannammal alias Ramlat of Madukkarai in the city, came to the collectorate this morning and suddenly doused herself with kerosene and attempted to light a match stick, police said.
However, some students, present in the premises, overpowered and prevented her from setting herself afire.
