A 65-year-old man, said to be mentally disturbed due to prolonged illness, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Sahibabad here, police said today.
Bansi Lal committed suicide last night by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in Shalimar Garden Extension-II Colony of Sahibabad, they said.
Quoting a statement of the deceased's son Hitesh, SHO Upendra Yadav said Lal had been mentally upset due to prolonged ailment.
Last night after dinner, all family members retired to their rooms. In the morning, Hitesh found his father hanging in his room.
