66 FM radio channels provisionally sold in auctions: Govt

In the e-auction of second batch of 266 FM Phase III radio channels put up for bidding, 66 of them in 48 cities were provisionally sold, the goverment said today.

This information was shared in the Rajya Sabha by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore.

The government received an amount of Rs 1,103.51 crore from winners of 96 channels in 55 cities against the cumulative reserve price of Rs 550 crore for the first batch, he said.

"The government has also conducted e-auction of second batch of Phase III between October 26, 2016 and December 14 wherein 66 channels in 48 cities were provisionally sold out of 266 channels put to auction in 92 cities," the minister said.
 

The I&B ministry has not declared the results of the second batch of the Phase III FM auctions yet.
