A 66-year-old woman was arrested and her minor granddaughter apprehended for allegedly stealing two pairs of earrings from a showroom in northwest Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar, police said today.
They had visited a jewellery showroom to buy earrings on March 22, but later left from there saying they did not like any of them, the police added.
The manager of the showroom found that two pairs of earrings were missing and in the CCTV footage, the woman and his granddaughter could be seen stealing them, the police said, adding a case was registered in the matter.
Yesterday, they visited the same market to commit another theft but were spotted by the manager who identified them and informed the police. Subsequently, the elderly was arrested and her granddaughter apprehended, the police added.
