A 67-year-old man was found trampled to death by a wild elephant near Kothagiri in Nilgiris district early Wednesday, police said.
Balan, a Irula tribal, had gone to graze cattle in Kulangarai area Tuesday evening and did not return home, the police said.
A search team, including Balan's relatives, found him lying dead with bleeding injuries sustained in an elephant attack, they said.
