A total of 68 gold biscuits valued at Rs 3.60 crore were seized in Nagaland's Kolasib district bordering Assam on Saturday, official sources said.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials also arrested a 24-year-old man Kawnpui town on the charge of smuggling the gold biscuits weighing over 11 kg.
The contraband was worth around Rs 3.60 crore in Indian market and reportedly smuggled from Myanmar, the sources said.
Mizoram has become one of the main conduits of gold smuggling from Myanmar since 2015, the sources said adding that earlier it was Moreh in Manipur, the sources said.
