68 persons detected without ILP in Arunachal Pradesh

In continuation with its drive to deport immigrants without valid ILP (Inner Line Permit), the City Police has detected 68 persons from Itanagar, Naharlagun and Nirjuli areas.

The persons without ILP were arrested yesterday and after being produced before the magistrate they were sent back to their respective places through Banderdewa check gate, city SP Seju P Kuruvilla said today.

So far a total of 256 ILP defaulters have been deported from the state capital since the launch of special drive on May 20 last, Kuruvilla said.

Meanwhile, the All Papum Pare District Students' Union (APPDSU) appreciated the administration for undertaking this drive and deporting persons without valid ILP.
 

Stating that the measures taken by the administrations would reduce crime rate in the capital, the union urged for continuation of the drive.
