690 autos impounded in Gurgaon for violating traffic norms

In an anti-encroachment drive against traffic offenders, Gurgaon police today impounded 690 autos and issued challans against 1,364 other vehicles.

"Total 2185 vehicles were issued challans including 690 autos that were impounded and 131 cars and other vehiclestowed away for violating various traffic norms," said spokesperson of Gurgaon police ACP Hawa Singh.

"These impounded vehicles were towed to concerned police stations and posts and some of them were released after the owners paid fines," Singh added.

In a similar crack-down, police had impounded 458 vehicles yesterday.
