An interesting mix of golfers from different age groups, with players like 12-year-old Himadri Singh and 72-year-old Rama Khanna, will be seen in action at the sixth edition of the 54-hole Usha DGC Ladies Open Amateur Golf Championship that starts here tomorrow.

The three-day tournament is slated between October 14 and 16 at the Delhi Golf Course and will feature a total of 73 Indian and foreign amateur golfers.

The tournament has attracted some of the best talents from all over India, with previous editions seeing participation of top-ranked amateurs like Aditi Ashok, Gurbani Singh, Gauri Monga, Amandeep Drall and last edition's winner Tvesa Malik.

However, many of the top names will be missing from action in this edition.

Speaking about the event, Komal Mehra, Events Head, Usha International said, "Usha is supporting Ladies Amateur golf with DGC for the last six years. This collaboration is part of a larger effort in promoting sports especially among young Indian women belonging to different backgrounds."

"We have been an unwavering supporter of golf for the last 25 years. This has encouraged many promising young talents across the nation to pursue the sport in a professional manner," she added.

The championship, formerly called the Northern India Ladies Amateur Golf Championship, is now in its 28th year.
