7 Armymen injured in car-lorry collision

Seven jawans of the Army's Uttarakhand Regiment were injured when a lorry hit the car carrying them from rear on NH-34 at Gajol in Malda district today, police said.

The accident occurred when they were going to Malda Town railway station to return to their place of posting after a leave.

All of them were residents of Itahar of neighbouring Uttar Dinajpur district.

They were under treatment in Malda Medical College and Hospital where the condition of three of them were stated to be serious.

Police said that the lorry driver was absconding.
