7 constables suspended for dereliction of duty

Seven police constables, posted at two police control rooms here, were suspended today for alleged dereliction of duty.

Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh today suspended the seven constables, SHO Loni Border police station Virendra Yadav said.

He said a building contractor was robbed of Rs 7 lakh by two bike-borne youths at gun-point on Loni-Ghaziabad road around 5 pm.

Upon receiving information, SHO Yadav rushed to the spot.

However, constables deputed on PCR van no. 72 of PS Sahibabad and 113 of PS Loni which were patrolling at nearby locations reached very late, police said.

Following this, all seven constables on both PCR vans were suspended.
 

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against unknown robbers and a manhunt launched to nab them, police said.
