At least seven of the 54 dengue patients in SCB medical college and hospital here are in critical condition and all of them are undergoing treatment in an exclusive ICU at the hospital today.

Seven out of the 54 dengue patients are in critical condition, sources in the SCB Medical College and Hospital said.

They said more than 200 dengue patients have already left the hospital after treatment in the current year.

Like the past few years, dengue has spread in several parts of the state this year.

Dengue cases were reported from Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Berhampur, Puri and Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, the state health government has set up helpline numbers both in the state capital and in Delhi to provide information on the disease.

While the helpline number in Bhubaneswar was 0674-2390466, a 24-hour helpline was working in Delhi with the number: 011-24679201.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also tweeted the helpline number today.

The state government decided to launch a helpline number in Delhi after the death of at least two persons from Odisha due to dengue in the national capital.
