There were 18 passengers travelling in the 30-seat coach that rammed into the truck in Sichuan Province in the city of Meishan on a National Highway, state-run Xinhua news agency quoted local officials as saying.
While five persons died on the spot, another two succumbed to their injuries on their way to a hospital.
The 14 others occupants of the two vehicles that collided have been admitted to local hospitals, it said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
