7 get life term for killing woman

Additional sessions judge Ambala, R C Dimri, slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on each convict.

The court also awarded one year imprisonment to all the accused and both the sentences will run concurrently.

All the accused belonged Singpura village close to Ambala Cantt and are close relatives.

In 2008, the convicts had mercilessly beaten their neighbour Karamjeet with batons. Later she died in a hospital, prosecution said.

An old rivalry between them was said to be the reason behind the murder.

The police had registered a case against 8 persons on the complaint of the relatives of the deceased.
