7 Guj districts selected for kerosene DBT pilot project

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today informed the Gujarat government that seven districts in the state had been included in the pilot project of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of kerosene subsidy.

Pradhan today held a review meeting to discuss the mechanism of DBT with the state civil supply department here. Gujarat civil supply minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama was also present.

These seven districts (out of the 33 districts in the country selected by the Centre for DBT in kerosene) are Banaskantha, Chotte Udepur, Ahmedabad Rural, Bharuch, Dang, Porbandar and Dwarka, a release of the state government said.

"Every day three crore people buy some petroleum product in the country. We have successfully implemented DBT scheme for LPG. Now we are going to the do the same for kerosene," Pradhan was quoted as saying.
 

Earlier in the day the Union Minister reviewed the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's Gujarat operations.
