7 killed, 17 injured in two separate road accidents in Raj

Seven persons were killed and seventeen others injured in two separate road accidents today in Rajasthan's Tonk and Sawaimadhopur district, police said.

Three men travelling in a speeding mini truck were killed and eight others injured when it skidded while manoeuvring a turn and turned turtle near Khirni village in Sawaimadhopur district.

The victims were returning from Niwai town when the incident occurred, police said.

In another mishap in Tonk district, a jeep rammed into a road side house after the driver lost control over it in a bid to save a pedestrian.

Three occupants of the jeep including a-year-old girl and the pedestrian were killed in the mishap and nine others were injured, police said, adding that condition of two injured was stated to be critical.
 

The jeep was on its way to Tonk from Jaipur when the incident occurred.
