7 killed, 28 injured in rain-related incidents in Pakistan

At least seven persons were killed and 28 others injured as torrential rains coupled with severe hailstorms today lashed Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, inundating the low-lying areas.

The torrential rains lashed various parts of the province and its adjacent tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.

Five members of a family died and 12 others injured as roof of their house collapsed in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency, Deputy Commissioner Zahirul Islam told PTI.

Two people died and 13 others were injured due to rain-related incidents in Peshawar, officials said.

Seven dead bodies were received at the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), while 22 injured people were admitted there for treatment. Three injured were received at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) and discharged after the first aid.
 

Moreover, three injured were received at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH). One was discharged after the first aid, while the other was still getting medical attention there.

At least 18 people had been killed and more than 80 others injured in Peshawar last week in different rain-related incidents.
