7 killed, 32 injured in bus-truck collision in Maharashtra

Seven persons, including a woman were today killed and 32 others injured when a state transport bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck on the Mumbai-Goa Highway here, police said.

The incident occurred this morning between Nivali and Bavnadi village when the bus was on its way to Ratnagiri from Chiplun, an official attached with the Ratnagiri rural police said.

Prabhakar Kshirsagar, Santosh Karjavkar, Narayan Kulkarni, Bhaskar Kokate, Rajaram Kulkarni, Vijaya Surve and Yashwant Mohite were killed on the spot while 32 others sustained injuries, he said.

The injured were admitted to the Ratnagiri civil hospital, police said adding that investigations are underway.
