At least seven people, including two soldiers, were killed and 61 others injured today in two separate road accidents in Pakistan.

Five people were killed and 16 others injured today when two passenger buses collided in Pakistan's Lahore city.

The accident took place near Faizpur Interchange when driver of one of the buses collided after losing control of his vehicle.

The dead and injured were moved to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Their identities were yet to be known, Geo News reported today.

Meanwhile, in another incident at least two soldiers were killed and 45 others injured today after their vehicles collided in north-western Pakistan.

The vehicles were carrying security personnel from Kohat to Peshawar in Khbyer-Pakhtunkhwa when they collided near Zangli, officials said.

Both the vehicles turned turtle after hitting each other, a security official said.

He said the victims were shifted to hospitals where two are in critical condition.

The soldiers were temporarily deployed in Kohat to provide security to Shiite during Muharram.

The immediate cause of mishap was not known but it was apparently caused by over-speeding, official said.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan and kill hundreds of people every year.
