7 killed in separate road mishaps in Tripura

Seven persons were killed and one seriously injured in separate road accidents in Tripura, police said today.

A doctor and his wife were killed and their daughter were critically injured at Gakulnagar, about 20 km from here, when a school bus of paramilitary Tripura State Rifles (TSR) collided with their car last night, they said.

In a separate incident, two youth were mowed down by a speeding truck on the Assam-Agartala National Highway at Ambassa in Dhalai district, about 100 km from here last night, police said.

In the third incident, a 16-year-old boy was killed on the spot at Amtali near here today when a truck hit him.
 

Meanwhile, a woman was killed when a car knocked her down at Radhakishorepur area in South Tripura district today.

In another mishap, a teenage girl was killed when a speeding motorbike hit her in South Tripura district, police said.

Further investigations into all the incidents are underway, they added.
