7 killed in two road mishaps in Rajasthan

Seven persons were today killed on the spot and at least eight others were injured in two separate road mishaps in parts of Rajasthan, police said.

In the first incident, a family of ten was travelling towards Barmer in a jeep when it collided head-on with a mini truck loaded with stones at Aakal village on Barmer road in Jaisalmer district, they said.

Four persons were killed and five were injured in the accident, they added.

The deceased have not been yet identified. The injured persons were rushed to a nearby government hospital, police said.

In an another accident, three persons including a man sitting at a roadside tea stall on highway were killed and three others were injured in collision between a bike and SUV at Anoopgarh in Sriganganagar district, they said.
 

The deceased have been identified as Labh Singh who was sitting on a chair, Bharuram, who was riding the bike with his three kids, and his son Dodhuram, the police said.

Deceased Bharuram's two minor daughters Mamta and Kanchan were injured and referred to a Bikaner's hospital, they said.

The accident occurred when a SUV hit the motorcycle on which four persons were riding, and rammed into the road side tea stall today, they said.

The car driver fled the scene, they said, adding the vehicle was traced as two persons in SUV also got wounded and reported to a private hospital, police said.
