Seven persons died in Bahraich district in rain-related incidents as heavy rains lashed isolated parts of east Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours.
District Magistrate (Bahraich) Narendra Kumar Singh said three members of a family, including Bhimsen (35), his wife Shivkumari (30) and their 8-year-old son Sohan were killed when the wall of a house collapsed due to heavy rain in Mahsi area.
Three-year-old Nazeer Ahmad, Kaisarunnisha (50), Budhna (58) and Mohammad Yaseen (20) were also killed in rain related incidents, Singh said.

It said that heavy to very heavy rain or thundershower occurred at isolated places over eastern UP, whereas light to moderate rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places over western parts of the state.
Chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms was Katerniaghat 17, Shardanagar 16, Dharuhera 12, Nighasan 11, Palia 5, Lakimpur Kheri 3, Kakardharighat, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, and Kirawali 2 each.
