The police today arrested seven Peoples' Liberation Front of India (PLFI) militants, including two prominent leaders, from Kukudabahal forest area in Sundergarh district, a police officer said.
A carbine, a double barrel rifle, a 9 mm pistol, and 50 rounds of ammunition were seized from them, Sundergarh SP Pinak Mishra said.
Among the arrested were PLFI zonal committee member Arjun Rana and the Koida-Barbil area commander Karan Sai, the police officer said.
The leaders were actively involved in a number of crimes in Keonjhar, Sundargarh and neighbouring Jharkhand, he added.
